This area, along with the Brother Jonathan Memorial, is a huge part of the history of Crescent City and California Maritime history in general. Take the time to read it and look at the gravestones too. Imagine what it must have been like! Remarkable story-and...More

This landscape is absolutely stunning. we enjoyed our short hike to the ocean and the view is like nothing else! We went in early April so the beach was pretty much all ours!

Grab the tide schedule at the visitor center in Crescent City and head there at low tide. Fun tide pooling where we saw multiple starfishes, blue and red crabs, clams, anemones, hermit crabs, snails and more. Make sure you wear sturdy shoes (I would not...More

This historical lighthouse is operating today because of a dedicated group of volunteers. It is an amazing piece of history, engineering and architecture. The tour, definitely worth the wait takes you up into the light tower. Thank you Ken and Barbie for your dedication and...More

The drive to get here was just gorgeous with rocky shore lines and many pull outs to stop and take in the views. Once we got there, parked and walked out to see the panoramic views. Enjoyed the drive just as much

A great place to walk and bring a picnic; hopefully the wind won't be too bad. Otherwise a picnic in your car is fun. The beach is great you can see whales and dolphins. Sometimes the weather is extreme however worth the see ~

This area is, simply put, beautiful! It reminds me a bit of some of the rural areas in Cornwall England as it has great open space and yes, sweeping vistas. There is plenty of parking and footpaths go all around and down to the beach...More

Parked at old Coast Guard station at road's end and hiked down the trail to a bluff overlooking the ocean. Had magnificent views of the coastline north of Point St. George.

This was one place where we did have a decent time. The fog which was horrible while we were in the area, was burning off slightly and we had glimpses of views but then the fog rolled in again. If we ever came to this...More
