THE MUSEUM WILL BE CLOSED JAN 4-MARCH 31, 2016 DUE TO CONSTRUCTION. PLEASE CHECK OUR WEBSITE FOR UPDATES. The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a lasting tribute to U.S. Marines--past, present, and future. Situated on a 135-acre site adjacent to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, and under the command of Marine Corps University, the Museum's soaring design evokes the image of the flag-raisers of Iwo Jima and beckons visitors to this 120,000-square-foot structure. World-class interactive exhibits using the most innovative technology surround visitors with irreplaceable artifacts and immerse them in the sights and sounds of Marines in action. Admission and parking are always free.

while searching for information on my grandfathers branch of the US marines in WW1 I stumbled across this magnificent museum! It will take you nearly 3 hours to work your way through the maze of informative displays. starting at the birth of the Marine corps, and working your way through to modern times. The museum is done with great detail,... More

My father is retired military and this was our first visit. Very kid friendly, has a section for kids to play. The facility is nice, clean and extremely educational to the various wars the US has been on. Slightly confusing on the direction to tour inside due to construction currently but thats temporary as they are adding an addition to... More

My husband and I have visited military museums around the world and this one stays at the top of the list! It is the perfect combination of a history and educational museum and has some of the most life like figures in its displays we have ever seen. It is a wow! From the minute you enter the main entry--with... More

The museum is one of the best in the Capital Area. You can see the Semper Fi Memorial Park with dozens of memorials to historic battles, the Marine Corps Chapel, the footsteps of leadership, and the complete history of the Marine Corps. Plus, there is a terrific gift shop that you can find something for everyone in your family. If... More

This is one of the best museums I have been to. There is not only a huge amount of history, but it is laid out in such a way that each room is engaging and interactive. This makes it a wonderful place to go as an adult or as a child. The museum is laid out in order of the... More

The National Marine Corp Museum I think was better than the Natural History museum. It was excellent for children. It had interactive things to do and the scenes were so life like it was like you were in the action with them, with out the stress of the fight. There was so much history and facts that I a three... We visited family in VA which happened to be an ex Marine. He took us here. Admission and parking are free. The building looked very interesting from outside. I learned a lot about Marine, their job and how important they are to the country. A must visit if you in the area.

Kids and adults alike will like this museum with very little exertion as compared to what the Marines engage in doing their jobs.

As we have driven along Route 95 in the past, my wife and I have always wondered what the glass and steel structure was that was rising up from the woods along the highway. As we were always on the way to somewhere else, we never stopped, but I am glad we did yesterday. What a wonderful museum! Architecturally speaking,... More
