We had a fun and learning experience on our tour. The location is not a likely place for a museum but it makes for real easy parking. It's not like a typical 'big' museum - you don't just stop in and wander. You go through on a tour and that includes great information and time to look around on your... More

Jacob is the 5th generation running this business. A museum that explains orgins, history, how to identify natural stones and fakes, current uses of the stone..all very interesting. Museums and collectors from all over the world, consult with this family of experts. This museum is currently in a store-front shop behind Walgreens. So, while not a "fancy" place, it is... More

We booked this tour to fill in some time between events, became a bit apprehensive when we found it in a strip mall with the biggest attraction appearing to be Walgreeen's, and found ourselves having learned our first valuable lesson -the meaning of not judging a book by its cover. This is a must for anyone who wants to know... More

The regular tour guide, a grandson of a pioneer in the New Mexico turquoise business, provided revealing details that made the tour an interesting and personal view of a long-time family business and an under-rated gem stone. The signs about the "mystical" powers attributed to stones were funny rants against pseudo science. The displays were informal but impressive.

while visiting a friend in Albuquerque we visited much of what the city and surrounding area offered. I had read about the Turquoise Museum on Tripadvisorand really wanted to go. Our friend was not familiar with it and assumed it might be a tacky tourist trap. Let me tell you, we were all SO impressed. Even without a special interest... More

Jacob was outstanding with a casual wit while answering ? Before gently moving our small group to the next station. Well done, informative with time to browse. Only issue encountered: should have gained "his" wisdom before buying lots of "fake" stuff which turns out to be about 98% of the retail stock sold including all "Authentic " Indian jewelry.

Truly enjoyed our experience and valuable time with our expert guide. Worthwhile one and a half hours. Museum lade out very well for a quick understanding of the industry that is turquoise. Fascinating depictions of the vast international value of this gem. Well worth the time and admission.
