worth a stop even for an hour!

We didn't have much time but enjoyed the space information and the dinosaur information. Always great to stop at a science museum and this one not too large and easy to browse.

I was with a tour group who was lucky to go behind the scenes in the building across the street that housed the BONES! Way cool things and it was delightful to have an employee/guide who passionately loves his job. I could have stayed there all day. That part of the tour gets 5+ rating for me. I went back... More

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History is interesting and informative. It's worth a couple of hours to learn some fascinating facts about NM's history, both modern and more ancient.

There was a surprising amount of exhibits loaded into this museum, although they would benefit from updating. It covers the history of the region including exhibits on dinosaurs, the Precambrian sea, volcanoes, caves, the ice age and space. We were lucky enough to meet volunteers with telescopes examining the sun outside the museum who were very knowledgeable and made out... More

The exhibits in this museum were well done, very educational and informative. The people there were helpful and willing to explain the exhibits. The Dynatheater and Planetarium were the favorites. The only downfall was they closed down restrooms for cleaning during peak visitation times.

The 3D film on the Galapagos was wonderful although the glasses could have been better. The gem exhibit with Opals was wonderful. I agree with a previous review that the exhibit needs updating. Many hands on activities don't work. Could be much more interesting for adults. More fun for kids.

This place packed a decent amount of exhibits into a smaller building than other natural museums we have frequented. Having said that they did a great job of layout and exhibit content to keep you interested for 4 hours. As well, we saw one of the IMAX shows and it was good. Even ate lunch at the Hope cafe and... Very pretty to look at outside with picnic tables, dinosaurs, etc. The museum has a nice theatre. Great gift shop. If you like museums this is a nice spot. They have a great upstairs area for kids with bubbles, and a large aquarium thing that you can color and scan a picture into.
