Weather permitting and the way the sand on shoreline is you can drive south on the beach approximately 3 miles to were the Rio Grand River enters the golf.

We were exploring, saw the signs and headed to the park. Beautifully maintained ...a real gem. Kiddos had a great time ..from the little ones on up.

This is a gem. It cost nothing the beach was great there are no facilities so bring a chair, a book or just stare out at the Gulf and the birds. You can walk to the mouth of the Rio Grand

There are much better beaches in the area. A lot of trash. Most of the shells everyone talks about are small or broken. If you want to find large, thick clam shells go to the northern end of South Padre. Drive until the road ends.

Depends on the wind a waves I 'spose----it would have been quite a challenge the day that I visited Boca---like white water rafting!

is this place safe? was told there is a high crime rate in Brownsville.

There were others there walking dogs or strolling the beach and at no time did we feel unsafe.
