Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium! Thousands of animals representing over 320 different species are ready to enchant, entertain, and inspire you. Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. The Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Aquarium's mission is to engage people with animals, inspire appreciation for our seas, and support wildlife conservation.

We were shocked to find out that Texas State Aquarium does not respect senior citizens. The regular price of admission is $23.95. The senior citizen price is $21.95! When I asked why there is so little difference, the clerk shrugged and said, "You can buy...More

We're sorry that you feel the level of our senior citizens discount is not as large as you would like. The Texas State Aquarium is a private not-for-profit institution and receives no operating support from city, state or federal sources outside of specific grant projects....More

Loved it! They have plenty to see and have a very nice splash pad set up for kids! The dolphin show is awesome! Enjoyed seeing all the marine life also.

The aquarium has some newer exhibits. They always seem to be adding. The staff and volunteer docents were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and seemed to truly enjoy what they were doing.

My family and I really enjoyed visiting the aquarium. I would definitely recommend it for any age!! We got to pet the sting rays, watch the dolphins perform and swim underwater at the viewing glass, there is a whole room of neon glowing water creatures....More

The aquarium was okay, I personally don't think it was worth the price. We did go over the weekend,so I'm sure it is a little better during the weekdays (most popular attractions are). I also thought it was a lot bigger than it actually was....More

It's on the small side right now but they are adding to right now so soon to be bigger. I think it's a little pricey for the small exhibits they have but kid love it & not too much walking. I'm sure when renovation is...More

Went for a short visit while in town. Easy to navigate, very informative. Great exhibits outside with dolphin turtles and otters. New construction going on so parks and entrance need to follow signs but looks to be a great addition visit for sure

It was cool to see so many animals in a beautiful facility! It's a little on the expensive side, and they are constructing a new exhibit area so things seem limited because the building looks so large from the outside. They have a lot of...More
