Kind of underwhelming, but it's next to the Lion House, which is the real attraction.

The Eagle Gate is a bit underwhelming, since it's simply suspended over the intersection and the only real viewing of it is from the sidewalk of a busy city street. However, it's right next to the Lion House, the former home of LDS church president, Brigham Young. That is a great building and you should take a tour.

This stunning ART piece is a true symbol of the beauty of Salt Lake City. It spans the main artery of traffic for the beautiful capitol city. State Street leads to the Capitol building, itself a wonderful sight to tour. South Temple street is the Historic Register Blvd of old, Salt Lake City mansions. I highly recommend traveling both major... More

A short walk from Temple Square takes you past the Lion House, the Beehive and on to the Eagle Gateway. All of which are of historical interest concerning Brigham Young. Perhaps as three individual sights, you might not make a special journey to see them, but the five minute walk from Temple Square makes them a " must see while I... More

Well - it's there. If your walking around the City Creek Centre and Temple Square then you'll probably see it. Maybe take a photo - then move on. Not worth going out of your way to see.

Looks like the picture... nuff said. I'm supposed to add more to make the 100 word minimum, so I hope this gets me there.

It's a nice little gate I suppose. But I never thought of it as an attraction until seeing it here. Don't go to temple square to see the eagle gate. If you happen to glance at it while seeing the other sites then it might be worth a few seconds of your time. I feel bad giving it a low... More

You can see this from a good distance... it is located next to the Bee House. It hoovers over the roadway but the Eagle on top is beautiful!

It is more of a landmark and not an attraction if you are walking downtown. It is nice to see but would not go out of my way just to see it. If you are nearby, take a few seconds to see but do not make a trip just to go there only.

Aside from the fact you are standing on a street corner with traffic rushing by, the monument is impressive. Just nothing to write home about. The buildings around it dwarf it

It's historic and used to sit directly in front of Brigham Young's home. He was both the territorial governor and the Mormon Church president. Eagle gate has been moved a bit to the east and spans an intersection on south temple and state street. It's not like you can look at it closely unless you are 20 feet tall! I... More
