Take a tour of this marvelous Cathedral. Learn about the replacement gargoyles, the wood carving behind the altar, the exquisite stained glass, and the magnificent Stations of the Cross. When I took the tour we were guided be one of the Fathers. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I found the story about the gargoyles and the Stations as the... More

We enjoyed our visit to the church. it is an easy walk from Temple Square. The church has an unusual, beautiful interior. If you enjoy churches, this is an interesting one to see.

It's a beautiful cathedral and I suggest taking the tour. The artwork is spectacular and you will be challenged trying to figure out what saints are featured around the front of the cathedral.

My son's wife drove downtown so I could see the Cathedral of the Madeleine, on my visit in 2013. When we entered, the organist was playing some quiet music and the mere open space of this church took my breath away. We knelt to say a prayer then found the place to light a candle beneath a Mary statue, which... More

I've only seen the temple in pictures, the drive downtown was so impressive. Salt Lake City is a clean and friendly City, we are looking forward to returning this winter.

beautiful inside and out. You can feel the spirituality. The gargoyles are rare these days in the us. The art done for the stations of the cross is very different, and full of very powerful images, they made me think differently about the lords passion.

Although, Salt Lake City is known as the headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, don't be fooled that everyone and everything is Mormon. The Cathedral of the Madeleine is proof of the vibrant Catholic community in Salt Lake City. The building itself is a refuge from the outside world with beautiful architecture and art. The incredible... More

Stop by this beautiful church even if you're not catholic! It's absolutely gorgeous! The art, the stained glass, all just beautiful.

We attended a relative's wedding at this Cathedral. It is not only impressive but also beautiful inside with the colored glass windows and open interior. It has a very calming effect once you are inside. It is located at one of the oldest residential areas of town.
