Another beautiful place downtown

I hadn't visited this park for many years. Going in February was a good time because nobody else was around. Good time to think.

This spot is a little gem in the Avenues near the State Capitol. It is a place which honors Brigham Young, the second president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. (The Mormon's) He has been touted as a modern day Moses. The meticulous planning and preparations he made to migrate members of the Church to a safe... More

I was quite surprised to find this park hidden amoung apartment buildings in downtown SLC. It is a peaceful and rather beautiful burial ground for Brigham Young and family members.

Not really a major destination - but a part of a complete visit to Temple Square. Worth seeing - but not the goal in and of itself!

Meridian marker for Salt lake City, UT. Beautifully kept gardens and flowers. Peace and serenity. Have a box lunch or just sit and enjoy the garden. Located in Downton=wn Salt Lake but miles away from it all

These Memorial Gardens hold the grave of Brigham Young and four of his wives. It is a beautifully kept garden, offering time for reflection in peaceful surroundings.

The monument is located in a park about a two block walk from Temple Square. If you have time, it is worth a stop. I would prioritize The Beehive House over this location. Grave located back left corner with the fencing around it.

The statue depicts early LDS leader Brigham Young and several other historical figures. Information on plaques around the place. The Meridian marker is just west of the statue, right next to the wall around Temple Square. That marker is the spot from where all the measurements in Utah originate. It's just a small concrete obelisk, with a medallion on the... More

Brigham Young Monument and This is the Place State Park are a must--see. Bring the children---the interactive village takes you back to the 1850's when the first LDS settlers came to Utah from many different countries. The volunteers are all dressed in period costumes. Some of the buildings are original to that time.
