Heading into Port Angeles I noticed this little place in my AAA book. It said it was FREE after Labor Day so we figured we would stop in. When we arrived the front desk staff said they had changed their policy and it was not free. We were initially bummed, but paid since we had made the effort to stop... More

This is a very small marine science center, but that's its charm. I went with my uncle (2 adults) and spent an hour there with the volunteer. We learned a TON about marine life in the area. It's a great little center and would be appropriate for kids about ages 4-12. But pay attention if you have kids -- not... More

What I particularly like about the Marine Life Center is the hands-on tank in which you get to pick up sea stars, etc. It's a wonderful experience.

First, the $4 all day admission for adults is a great value. The aquarium pipes its water in from the harbor, so there are all sorts of sea creatures in the tanks. The three touch tanks were awesome! Volunteer Burt was GREAT! He put barnacles, plankton, and sea water under a microscope so we could see them. He knew so... More

We were in Port Angeles to attend a wedding so didn't have much time. This and the other smaller marine center were right by our hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

My daughter (age 14) went in by herself. She enjoyed it, but wanted to ask questions about some of the things she saw, however, after the lady took her fee to get in, she never saw her again. She would have enjoyed it more if there were helpful staff, or any staff around.

It isn't the Monterey Aquarium but they have good staff and some remarkable animals for such a small place (squid!). Above all it's really cheap and kids love it.

This place is such a great asset to the community. Not only is it great for visitors to experience some of our local marine life, but it is a great tool for locals as well!
