The grand is a "Grand Ole Dame of The South." In 1908, a production of Ben Hur was shown. A treadmill was installed in the stage to make the live horses and chariots really move. Houdini used the trap doors; one still is used to this day. Thankfully, due to the energies of brilliant people, The Grand was not demolished... More

I have attended many functions at the Grand Opera House. It is a beautiful venue. The acoustics are excellent. I have sat in a variety of sections, including the back row. There is not a bad seat in the house. The balcony seats are a little cramped for leg space, but you can see and hear just fine. The only... More

Visit here regularly to attend concerts and plays. The restoration is very impressive. The only negative would be the temperature control. Due to difficulty in maintaining even temps throughout the building.

This is such a lovely venue. And if you buy their $10 mug (secure sip top), you can bring your beverage in with you. We bring our cocktails with us (or you can purchase them there as well). Every seat is great.

The facility is beautiful, very elegant with good acoustics. In the future I would check more carefully about the particular show to attend before purchasing tickets. We saw "Downtown" , a local production of uneven quality and political overtones that were unexpected. I would recommend the facility as very lovely.

I have been there several times throughout the years , either to watch a broadway musical or attend a concert. I defiantly recommend the place if the right performance is there.

Saw a show here. It was a good venue with a good sound system. The air condition didn't work that night but was a great date night for us.

I have been to the Grand Opera House many times to see a touring show or event. Recently I attended a school event at the Grand and it went well. Needs to be updated due to wear and tear just a bit but this venue is amazing in its own right. All-in-all it has aged well and I wouldn't hesitate... More

The Grand Opera House is a lovely place to enjoy a concert or anything else that is playing. The seating is such that there is not a bad one in the house. The acoustics are very good as well. I have enjoyed everything I have attended here and would highly recommend a visit.
