We came to see Rose Hill cemetery our first night. It was beautiful and peaceful. However because it was built in the 1800s the streets are narrowed. The scariest part is there was a tree blocking our path and we had to back up, which...More

My wife and I took our oldest grandson (16) to Rose Hill this morning. This place is full of history. Many old tombstones and lots of past prominent Maconites rest here. You can spend days in here if you have the time. Cemetery was opened...More

I have always wanted to stop and see their graves. It was 5 minutes off of the Interstate. Found a you tube video that took us right to their graves.

In Macon, they treat their dead better than the living: this cemetery is lovelier than any park in Macon. Too bad. If you have only one day in Macon, check it out.

Great place to stroll away an afternoon. Lots of history by the riverside. From war to couple famous people etc. Beautiful landscape.
