Definitely a good stop

Just beautiful when we went! It's out a super easy walk as far as terrain goes since it's paved. However, it does go up and down quite a bit so bring some water.

The tar sealed the walk way so it is much easier than before, but there is some up and down going so wear comfy shoes/slippers.

According to The Chronicles of Narnia, you can access this cove through the rear of a wardrobe, but we found that hiking from Hahei was a more spectacular way there - especially for sunrise. From the holiday park, it's about a 1 hour walk each way, with some quite steep parts. If you are taking the beach, check the tides,... More

An enjoyable walk but very busy. No space in the official car park but we parked on a private driveway for 10 dollars which was fine. Would recommend insect repellent - I got a couple of bites.

The walk takes a good 40 mins there at a slow walking pace taking in the surrounds. All paved with a few steps down to the beach at the end. The day we went had all ages with many little ones with prams (they left them at top of steps). The bays here (Cathedral, Stingray and Gemstone) are simply stunning... More

Have been around the world and seen a lot of beaches and I must say this one is up there with the best of them. I was there on a rainy day which was great due to the fact that a waterfall formed on the cliff over the beach. Just gorgeous from the waterfall, sand, cave, and rock formations. Hike... More

we arrived on our Kayaks from Hahei beach was great fun and we also did the walking track from Hahei beach to here even more fun, took about 1 hour each way, nice and challenging at times too. Amazing views though. Is a popular place but still beautiful and well looked after, worth seeing.

Worth the walk, even in a rainy day, like we did. Beautiful spot, easy walk. Parking is a problem, so leave your vehicle at the village or take the water taxi if you're feeling less energetic. The access track is quite well maintained and even accessible to wheelchairs almost all the way to the beach.

We have been visiting Cathedral Cove for nearly 40 years and I recommend everyone do their best to get there at least once. We dont go there so often these days due to the huge number of tourists and the difficulty with parking. Its best to try and get there early in the morning or after 6pm in the evening... More

To start the walk there is a 20 minute uphill walk on the road, there is a free car park where you can catch the bus for 5$ return to the start of the walk, cutting out the 20 mins uphill through the town. The walk takes about 30-45 minutes and is a sealed wide track. Take everything with you,... More
