This is a really cool place if you plan to visit Mindo but not something I'd plan by itself. I'm told the tour is interesting but I just entered the garden to make photos of certain butterflies. This whole area, outside the garden, is filled...More

We spent an hour there just reveling in the butterflies and watching all their actions including their development and birth.

Not sure why a staff at this place would find my autistic son having an episode funny. But there you go. They were laughing

We didn't get a tour through the garden, which was MAYBE too bad, b/c the folks here appear to really know their stuff. It is not/not one of the typical tourist traps that do just enough to attract you, then leave you disappointed. This place...More

It was amazing to have butterflies all around and even land on you. I walked around for the better part of an hour, with the same butterfly on my wrist. When I was leaving, I naturally gently placed "him" on a table. However he flew...More

One of my favorite places in Ecuador. I could have spent an entire day here, not just for the butterflies but also for the birds. Mindo is a special place.

We enjoyed the tour through the butterfly garden with an excellent, english-speaking guide. The displays of the life-cycle of the butterfly and watching the butterflies emerge were very interesting. The garden also had a wide variety of orchids. A very informative, family-friendly place to visit.

So many wondrous little beauties. If you love to take pics of them some of the hardest ones are here and much easier. It only takes about an hour and worth the time. It also helps the locals.

Professional location with about 100 different butterflies from the region. great outdoor space to explore as well. Humming birds and other local wildlife is greatly encouraged on the grounds. Make sure to stop to eat in the restaurant! It was Great with good sized portions.

I have never seen such big amazing butterflies in my life, and you are surrounded by them! It was amazing! But be careful where you step there sometimes they are sitting on the ground and you can step on them by mistake!
