Chocolate lovers unite! What a great little tour by Sergio! We start with a history of the artesanal chocolate factory, trying the beans of the fruit, touring the land for the trees and process of fermentation and drying, pressing, and dressing.... and end with a wonderful sample session. The only thing missing was wine! A great place for lunch and... More

We got a tour with Sergio (pretty sure that was his name) and he was great. He knew all the facts and explained each stage of the chocolate making process very clearly. We got a tour around the farm where we were shown the different plants and the machines used in the process of making chocolate. We then got to... More

We went for the chocolate tour today, first of all I have to say that our guide was really nice and knowledgeable. The tour was interesting, showing everything from the cocoa fruit to the chocolate bar. However, it is extremely overpriced: $10 per person for a 45 min tour!!!!! Sorry, but it doesn't deserve such a price.

Went for the chocolate tour and had a Wonderful time. The staff provides an informative tour and walk through of the entire chocolate production, from tree to stomach. The chocolates were delicious as were the teas and sauces. Well worth the price of admission.

We enjoyed our tour, with our English-speaking guide. As it turned out, we were the only ones there at the time, so we ended up having a private tour. While walking the grounds, in addition to chocolate, we had an opportunity to taste many native products – from coffee beans to stevia to lemongrass. We also saw how many tropical... More

It is a very nice way to understand the process of artisanal chocolate. The flavors are extreme, from a 100% pure chocolate with the bright and beautiful color to a great flavor experience with their brownie! Nice activity nice place

This was a great tour of the whole process of chocolate-making - inside and outside - by a very engaging guide called Jorge. Fascinating factoids and some free samples too.

We loved this place even before going on a tour. Sabine was so friendly and helpful. While waiting for our tour, we bought little gifts and had an artisan craft beer. Sergio gave us a wonderful tour. We learned tons about the origin and process of chocolate

Very small chocolate manufacturer but worth the trip if you are in the neighborhood. Great tour with a guide. Very informative and some hands on. We learned a lot. It's a bit hard to find and there really isn't any parking that we found. Our guide spoke English well.

Hi Randy, I am glad you enjoyed our Chocolate Tour. I am sorry that you weren't able to find parking. We have several parking spots right outside El Quetzal. Perhaps it was an extra busy day with an unusual number of drivers. Most of our customers ride the bus to Mindo. We also have big tour busses come to our... More

This tour was literally one of the best things we did in mainland Ecuador in our four days there. We wanted to understand more about the chocolate making process given the importance of this region of the world to the history of that food and we got it here. Sure, they don't grown cacao trees used to make chocolate in... More
