Clear Kayak and Snorkel Adventure from Kihei

Get a new perspective on life under the sea with this adventure, which includes a clear kayak ride and a snorkeling trip. You'll head out to Makena Landing Park in Wailea, where you'll get to spot all sorts of local life, including coral and fish; if you're lucky, you might even see a sea turtle.

This was our 2nd visit in two years. Keawakapu beach is great for relaxation, snorkeling, and watching the most fantastic sunsets!

Nods to Jack Kerouac and the clarity of Kihea’s sea to break your heart, alone amongst the coral glades in Maui, the bright tropical cornucopia of fish flickering before me, and me on the empty beach strolling for what seems miles on golden sands. One of Maui’s lovely tourist beaches is even lovelier during the times of quarantine. A great place to swim, too, with a soft sand bottom. Good snorkeling at the point on the north end.

We were recommended by other travellers and feel like we owe them a big thanks. Located between Wailea and Kihei. Free public parking across street from beach access full covered with trees for shade (and wild chickens). Beach access is a path between 2 mansions adjacent to cross walk. Showers available but no bathroom or lifeguard. Beach is 0.7 miles long, flat, easy surf, gentle waves and a few rocks for snorkeling. On calm days its like a pool, so clear. At north end of beach a few restaurants (5 Palms) you can stop for happy hour at end of day. Bring your cooler and enjoy snacks and stay for the day. Great beach to walk, a few tide pools, great for families.

Just spent an amazing week visiting this beach daily from sun up to sun down with family from 90yrs to 7 yrs. Best waves, best water temperature, uncrowded beach, multiple turtle and whale sightings. Magnificent sun sets, calm early morning dawn swims.... People watching, sand castle and fort building included. Easy access, with showers, washrooms and parking.
