I have dived maybe 30 times in 30 years so I am always a bit apprehensive when I schedule a dive. After reading many reviews, I decided to book a shore dive with Jerry at Wailea Scuba. Best decision I could have made. I met Jerry at the Makena Landing dive site and thanks to some other people changing their dive times, I ended up with a private dive. Jerry is super chill and as we were donning our gear, we talked through some of the problems I had experienced during previous dives. Jerry explained how to correct them and sure enough I had the most fun and relaxed dive I have ever had. The caves we dove in were very cool and we saw white-tipped reef sharks, turtles, and even a small octopus. I highly recommend that you go with Jerry as I guarantee you will not be disappointed.…

Jerry met us in Makena to begin our 3 day open water scuba diving certification program. He was very in tuned to our needs through evaluating our various prior experiences. My 13 year old grandson was a little apprehensive on his first dive. Jerry helped him along as if he was his best friend. Very caring and patient. The coral and underwater wildlife was amazing and was a fantastic view as we went through the PADI program. Jerry and his assistant Miley made it seem easy. They are a great team!…

What an amazing day diving with Jerry and Wailea Scuba! As a novice diver, Jerry and his dive team made me feel comfortable getting back in/under the water after 10 years. With over 20 years of experience, Jerry is by far the best dive master I’ve had. It was so much fun! We saw white tip sharks, sea turtles and got up close and personal with an octopus. This was my first time in a cave and I would never have consider trying a cave dive if it was for the confidence I had in Wailea Scuba. Thanks for an amazing dive!! Until next time...…

My wife and I went out with Wailea scuba in Oct 2019 during our honeymoon. I could not have been more impressed and satisfied with our experience. Jerry and Jay, our divemasters, were knowledgeable, prepared, friendly, and did a great job to make the beginners feel comfortable. I'm a 10 year diver, and my wife was doing her first dive after taking pool lessons back home. We both had a blast. The staff provided instructions and took things slowly with her and the other beginners, and she felt very comfortable and confident during her first real dive. We had a small group, 6 divers for 2 divemasters, which allowed them to give plenty of attention to the new divers. The spot they picked was fantastic, full of marine life and with great visibility. One of the better dives I've ever been on! We had such a good time that we asked to go back out with them later on our trip! They were flexible and worked with our schedule to arrange another dive, which ended up being just my wife and the divemaster and me! Unheard of accommodation. And on our second dive we saw, without exaggeration, 30-40 beautiful Hawaiian sea turtles. Jerry went above and beyond what was expected, and offered to take my wife through some of her certification tasks, which was a huge help. A few notes on logistics: they picked us up from our hotel in Wailea, they provided all of the dive gear we needed, and they had the kit set up and tanks ready to go when we arrived at the site. They made it all very convenient. One of the divemasters took photos while we were down there, which were available to purchase later. I think he did a great job (photos attached) If I'm ever back in Maui, I'm going with these guys again, no doubt.…
