This must be one of the most amazing hikes we have ever taken. We left town on the road to the old heliport and then took the Blue hiking trail along the board walk to Sermermiut, then followed the blue markers on the trail overlooking the fjord to Holmens Bakke and then at the red cairn turned inland along the... I went with a CruiseVessel, though it was back in 2008, it was such a pleasure and even I have been to Greenland before, I never get enough of the fantastic feelings I get when close to ICE. Spectacular Sceneries and well known very nice population all over the country

Nothing can come close to our experience in Llulissat. The stay, dog sledding, glacier cruse and the food was amazing.

If you want to see big icebergs up close a boat tour around/into the fjord is the way to go, it's incredibly spectacular. It's not cheap to get to or stay in Ilulissat but sights like this makes it worth the expense. I went on two boat tours a few days apart, both were very similar except for it being... More

We visited the Icefjord by boat with WoG in March. Whilst the trip is well worth it, make sure you have a very good coat and boots (sorrel or Baffin or maybe the seal skin ones) if going in the wintertime. The trip was around 2.5 hours with basic snacks such as tea, coffee, juices and fruit available inside.

Taking a boat to see the icebergs at the Ilulissat Icefjord is, literally, like nothing else on earth. The majesty of the icebergs does not only come from their size but also from their variety of textures, shades, and shapes, and their sheer number. Wrap up well and enjoy a boat ride like no other

During winter season the icebergs are stuck in the fiord. In summer season they flow. We visited in April - it was beautiful but we feel we need to see it during summer one day. There are different ways to see the fiord. The cheapest one is to take the yellow or blue walking route along the fiord. It's free.... More

This must be one of the most beautiful and impressive natural places in the world. During wintertime the enormous big icemountains are stuck in the Icefjord. We sailed out in the fjord and were astonished by its beauty.

The best experience of Ilulissat is free and open 24 hrs a day. I visited the icefjord at the end of march when there is still quite a bit of snow. There are pretty much 2 startingpoints.. either at the powerplant or on the south side of the village. I took both routes and was surprised how easy it was... More
