It takes awhile to get there. It is an empty fort for a good day of rest and peace and spend your day

The castle and cannons are beautifully restored and you can climb the tower for a better view. We got there via taxi from Cienfuegos which stopped at the Jardin Botanico Soledad on the way and then dropped us across the water at Pasacaballo where we...More

You can go by boat to the castle, but it is a slow boat, with not much shadow. The timetable is not frequently enough so you must wait a long time before you can back. Perhaps the boat from the otherside is better? We took...More

Talk about a spectacular building with amazing views. Cienfuegos is a small town, this needs to be on your must see list.

I was in Cienfuegos two weeks ago and so I took the opportunity to visit The Jaqua Castle. I was expecting it to be bigger. It's rather small, built in the 17th century. The view is beautiful from the watch tower. The canons from the...More

If you are taking the ferry direct from Cienfuegos, your hotel or casa should be able to guide you. We did ours as part of a day trip and hired a taxi for the day.
