To get the feel of a town that was once considered the biggest town in Canada don't miss a chance to visits the Town Hall Museum, beautifully restored. Makes you feel like you've gone back in time plus they have a wide variety of books to buy, including some from right here in the Maritimer. I'd recommend the Company store book.

I had read reviews about this museum, so dropped by. Ran into the lady that helps to oversee the museum and had a fascinating discussion with her. Things I learned... the Canadian Madicare System is based on the Miner's Booking System... and the Marconi exhibit room is well worth the visit. Great photos and examples of the technology used. I found it more informative than the Parks Canada Marconi exhibit. The history of the creation of this museum and the work they are doing to expand it is also very interesting. It is a fun museum to tour.

I was with my daughter who is working on her PH.D. On coal mining in Nova Scotia. We just happened to drive past the museum and dropped in for a visit. The young man who gave us the your was very knowledgable and interesting. The displays are very well set up and the museum house thousands of artifacts depicting Glace Bay's past. I highly recommend a visit.
