Melrose is one of the great stately mansions of Natchez, now run by the National Park Service. Filled with period antiques and furnishings, this house was breathtakingly beautiful, painstakingly kept, and worth a visit by anyone who loves history. Excellent tour guide.

Very ornate inside. I like them grand but not so much guilding or gold color. Grounds are fairly small now.

I did not do the tour, but you can drive up to the house and walk around the outside for free. It is the largest historic home IN Natchez.
