My first time there I was walking with a friend, talking, commenting on the beauty and whom should be walking alongside us but Bill Graham, the rock 'n roll impresario from the Summer of Love, etc., and while we didn't talk, as it was his day off, too -- it was the beginning of appreciating this wonderful trail to the... Used to be a well hidden secret with few to no houses along the path and you almost had to bushwhacked your way but that was in the 60's. Now a well trodden walk way to the beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. Not to be missed and enjoy a picnic once you get there.

which is ok. More trails, more trail signs. The main trail to the lagoon is very easy and quite beautiful. A lesser Marin attraction but one not to be missed.

As a local trail runner, I have undying respect for the paths that weave in and out of the Tennessee Valley Trailhead. But the reason I keep coming back is the plentiful parking. Even on a busy weekend, you are likely to find parking. It's a two mile walk to the beach -- but stay out of the dangerous water... More

The Tennessee Valley Trailhead is a recent discovery for me. I was staying at an AirBnb in Mill Valley, and my host recommended that I check out the trails less than 2 miles away. What a hidden gem? Easy hiking through forests and meadows to the beach. Quiet, relaxing and completely beautiful! This is a regular spot on my Bay... More

Not a must see place but if you are here more than a few days, go hike to small valley down to the small beach. It's very special and only locals go here. It's often windy. I take the mountain bike here too, great trails left and right of the valley. No dogs allowed down to the beach. Have a... More

We took this hike with a group of people. Very straightforward and relatively easy. Just a few small uphill areas. Took about 45 minutes to reach the ocean. Bathroom on the way and at parking. We had no trouble paring on a Saturday morning. We took a more level path going back. Beautiful area! Can't wait to go back! It... More

Great beach at the end of a 1.7 mile hike in on a wide, easy to walk trail. There are a couple of small hills to climb and the path can have ruts. There is a restroom facilty in the parking lot and along the way. These were disgusting and not well maintained. The beach was beautiful and worth the... More

OK, you're reading this, so you probably want in on the secret. For a shorter hike, head to Tennessee Cove/Tennessee Valley Beach. When you get there, the spot is in plain view. It's the cliff to the south (to the left as you approach the ocean) -- what a great workout. If you're able, go all the way to the... More
