Wonderful paved walk through woods with stream. Can start at one end and be picked up at another or make the full circuit starting near Seton Hackney stables. Bracing in the winter, cool in Spring-Summer. Real sense of the outdoors in one of the many Morris County Park Commission sites.

15 minutes around the lake (pond), half an hour from parking lot to parking lot and back. And longer if you wish.

Great to enjoy a leisurely walk in a beautiful and scenic park. The miles long paved trails are shared by cyclists, joggers, dog walkers, baby strollers and people like us, just enjoying a long walk. Last time we walked, the weather was glorious, we were able to enjoy the brilliant display of colors of the changing leaves in the fall.... More

A beautiful park with walking, bike and equestrian trails through the woods. Park is located adjacent to the county equestrian center which features trail rides. The bike/hiking trails are approximately five mikes long and closely follow the Loantaka brook after which the park is named. A very popular place especially in nice weather and on the weekends. A loyal cadre... More

I'm not sure what more you could want from your local neighborhood park! It has a wonderful duck pond, bike trails, jogging/walking trails, a play set for the kids, soccer field, baseball fields and pavilions with grills. The trails wind their way around streams, fields and the pond and are mostly shaded. There are enough people around that you never... More

This is a lovely park for walking, biking, picnicking, and just relaxing. Can get a bit crowded on the nicest days, but not usually a problem. One tip for bikers: Beware of people walking their dogs on too long leashes.

Pleasant shaded, flat paths. A stream, a duck pond. Choose your time wisely. Favorite of lunch walkers, evening joggers, morning moms with strollers. Parking tight some evenings with softball, soccer, and bicycling devotees filling the South St lot. Great example of what to do with a pipeline right of way.

A great area located in Morristown/Chatham that has trails and a playground at one end. Fun outing to go bike or hike and head into Morristown. Trails are paved and maintained.

The park has paved trails with the tallest trees. Walking through the fall colors was magical. The lake and trails around it are great to stop and look for wildlife. Great to walk your dog. The park has a pavilion that you can rent for the afternoon from morris county parks and have a group picnic. Feel fortunate to have... More

Have been going for walks in Loantaka for 20+ years. You feel like you are out in a faraway wood out of the hustle & bustle. During winter after winter snow falls, the trails are not ploughed immediately and gets slippery / dangerous. Hence I avoid going there till snow melts.
