Hello Linda, Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Autumn is a lovely time to see the reserve and all it's golden trees, and The Lodge always has something great to offer, even if the birds weren't showing while you were here!...More

Went to Sandy RSPB nature reserve today. Had a lovely walk around the grounds. Very well kept and clean. Numerous trails to walk. Nice old stately home in the middle with nice kept gardens. Only downside was the price of parking £6 for non members.

Took our grandchildren for a "nature trail" exploration. Cost so much to park we nearly turned away. Plenty to see on the trail. Thought we would have a mini picnic with sarnies and other items from the R.S.P.B. shop...we shouldn't have bothered. We won't be...More

Thank you for your comments. The charge does include your entrance for the family, not just car parking. Our supplier of sandwiches went into administration leaving the shop without food for a while, but from today, a new local supplier, Lyndsay's Bakery of Potton, is...More

Have visited the majority of RSPB reserves and this would rank as OK, not bad but certainly nothing special given it is the RSPBs H.O. Site. Left somehow feeling that more could be done.More

Thank your comments. Although it is now an integral part of the site, a lot of work has been done to restore the heathland here over the last 13 years and this year we had our first pair of nightjars on site for over 45...More

Hi Adrian, Sorry to hear you had a quiet visit bird-wise and it was a wet day. With hobbies, nightjars and spotted flycatcher's breeding alongside the commoner species we have had a very good year at The Lodge, but early September is traditionally a quiet...More

Lovely tranquillity.. beautiful walk with the kids, they loved it. Great for the 'outdoorsy' people. Great to clear the cobwebs of the rat race.
