About
The baroque-classicist manor house in Svaty Anton (St. Anton) was built at the route connecting Southern Balkan with Cracow and northern Baltic Sea. Inspired by the symbolic of the calendar, the building has 4 entrances, 7 arcades, 12 chimneys, 52 rooms and 365 windows. A number of famous European architects and artists participated in its building and decorating. The Kohary and Coburg families made an essential contribution to the history of the manor house. Here, they concentrated beautiful pieces of furniture, artwork and crafts from all around the world. Elderly people in the village still remember its last user - Bulgarian Tsar (emperor) Ferdinand Coburg, who lived here in exile until 1944. The manor house is a museum of art, history and hunting.

It was very nice to visit the place again after many years. It offers only guided tours, you cannot enter on your own. We had a bigger group, but people tried to keep social distancing. The interior is still great, rooms are beautifully preserved. Its a pity pictures cannot be taken. We visited the park after our tour, its gorgeous. Big, nicely kept. Overall we enjoyed our time spent there very much.

Don’t be put off by the exterior or grounds or the fact that you may not have an English speaking guide. The info for each room is printed in English so you can read for yourself.
Rooms are amazingly restored and a more enjoyable experience than the tourist packed Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna.

We enjoyed our visit here very much. Arrive before the hour, as I think you can only enter with a guide, and they commence the tour on the hour. After seeing so many churches, government buildings, and small buildings, this was something a bit different to do. Some really beautiful and interesting things to see from many periods/styles, including furniture, wall paper, clothing, artworks, collectables, all sorts of household items like a beautiful picnic set, as well as the chapel and the hunting exhibition. We enjoyed the guided tour - our guide knew a lot about the house and the families, had good English and a good sense of humour.

We took the tour and it was nice they have a English version of the tour and the self guided tour of the hunting museum > It was a nice side trip . I pointed out to the guide and security that there was a mouse sitting o a antique chair eating it and no one seemed to care. The tour guide did the tour in Slovak and English finally I told him we will follow along in the English guide book to save the time and only ask questions as need be. I went more to see the Hunting museum and the whole tour took about an hour . The lady at the admission booth was abrupt to say the least. Also not handicapped friendly

They acted very rude because I'm wearing a camera! In the entres nobody warned me that I can't take my camera with in the rooms. When we are in the first room, the guide told us, that taking pictures is not allowed and requested that we put our cell phones and cameras to the bags, pocket ... Well, my camera is about 2 kg and I didn't take bag with me to the castle, so I turn off the camera. After 5 minutes I was wery loudly and rude in front of all my colegges accused by the staff taking the pictures. They insist that I have to leave the castle or all the group should leave. It was very shamefully for me ...

Palace like building in the midst of nowhere where the nobility used to hunt and have their parties. Very well restored and worth taking a tour
