Need to know the tides to get the best visit. Can be busy in the car park and the steps/rocks slippery. Tide dependant so go early if possible. Might need some clambering over wet rocks to get to some areas. Look out for the percebes shellfish in the rock crevices.

Visited in May as disabled traveller. Investigated top path and viewed the beauty of the beach, sadly inaccessible. The toilets at top would have been far mor useful if they were unlocked!!!! Would recommend a visit here before the area is destroyed by all the house building that is going on.

The beach is around 1,5 h away from Santiago de Compostela. It is easy to reach it by car, the road is nice. It is totally worth it. The beach is like an exposition of the nature greatness. It is better to be visited during the low tide so you can enter the small caves and appreciate the so called... More

It was quiet an experience to witness such a great Nature Legacy! I have never seen the shells growing on the rocks, even though it was pretty wet day, but still was well worth it!

We drove 2 hours to see the Cathedral beaches. Yes, it is somewhat spectacular, but if I had known it before, I would not have wasted the fuel. Also, make sure u coincide ur visit with low(ish) tide. For City dwellers it may have a "wow" factor, for me.....ok, seen it, done it.

We went to Playa de las Catedrales on Easter Sunday around noon, having previously booked the authorisation to visit the beach via the ascatedrais website. During Easter week and from July to September you have to get this permit if you want to actually set foot on the beach, as they only allow for 4812 people to visit each day.... More

A wonderful place in northern Spain! The shape of the cliffs give a magical aura to this part of the Galician coast, yet very close to the Asturian region, and once you are there it's easy to understand the name of the place as the rock formations really remember Gothic cathedrals. It's very easy to arrive by car and to... More

About 90 km from Lugo, near Ribadeo, prepare yourself to know one of the most beautiful landscapes of Galicia: Playa de las Cathedrales (Augas Santas). Attention: check the tide schedule on the website; reservations needed in summer.

Beautiful beach enclave. Must be visited at times of low tide, usually 3-4 window in the morning and then in the evening, but you must check the tide website to figure out exactly what time that is as it changes daily depending on the moon. You MUST get a permission online prior to travelling there. Even though entry is FREE.... More

Have visited here several times but today was special as hardly anyone was here. The tide was high as were the waves. A different and equally beautiful aspect to this fone natural attraction.
