While not as dramatic as the ranger guided tours, this one shows how the roof of the kiva's would have been built. It is worth the short hike to access but after seeing all the other ranger guided cliff dwellings, it is sort of anti...More

This is one of the cliff dwellings you can walk to yourself without a ranger. It is a pretty easy short hike. Please stick to the same rules of no food or drink on the trails and in the ruins- ONLY WATER. Have respect for...More

You can no longer complete the full trail into Step House due to recent rock falls but there is a good view from the trail opposite. Rangers are on hand to provide information and answer any questions. Only a very short walk from the main...More

This is a short self guided tour that is not but about a mile long. Had about an hour and a half before doing Long House tour. Fill in the time gap perfectly.

Step house is a fun little jaunt to do before you do the Long House tour. Doesn't take much time. There is a ranger sitting in a chair. Can take as much or as little time as you want. enjoyed it.

It's a 60-90min drive along a speed-limited paved twisty mountain road. Then it's a 30min hike each way (down to the site & back up to the parking lot) along a well-maintained & at times steep track. So to see Step House, it's about a...More

This House can be visited on yourself and so without the need to book and pay for a visited tour. You can reach the house easily (not a lot of walk from the parking lot). Interesting visit even though not the best house to visit.

The hike is amazing to get to the step house. There is an incredible view of the canyon. The step house is interesting and is an example of early structures of the Ancient Pueblo people. See it on a sunny day to get all of...More
