Following this road is an excellent way to see what the park offers. There are so many archaeological sites and this will help you see most of the ones that are in good shape and do not require a tour guide. Very educational.

This is easily the best drive in the park for mesa top sites and overlooks all in one concentrated area on the six mile loop. As you drive along you move from pithouse and pueblo sites on the mesa top to overlooks of cliff dwellings....More

It was so interesting to drive this road and stop at the various dwellings along the way. We especially liked that the road was basically a chronological trip through the lives of the Native Americans that live here starting with the mist primitive pit houses...More

Cliff palace and balcony house are on this road, but they have their own place for reviews so I won't mention them here. What's left is a string of overlooks and archaeological sites, many with short trails of their own leading you through sites that...More

We had visited the museum and took the Mesa Top Road on our way back to the lodge. The sun was setting on the side of the canyon and enhanced our views of the puebla on the other side. Expect to be out of the...More

The Ruins road is a one way road, so once your on it you've got to do the whole loop. It is very scenic and has some interesting stopping points.

This is actually two roads--Mesa Top Loop, which takes you by multiple pit houses, scenic overlooks, the Square Tower House overlook, and the Sun Temple remains; and Cliff Palace Loop, which takes you to the Cliff Palace and Bacony House cliff dwellings and the Soda...More
