An ordinary park in an ordinary town
Aug 2016
Motril feels very local but not traditional. There is hardly anything to see around. Park is nice but nothing special. Unless you are passing by this town, I would not plan a trip to go there.

Nice, quiet and well kept.

Hardly Alhambra, but very tranquil and large, given the size of the town. There is paid parking close by but free parking is easily found just 100 metres away down the same road

If the play area was shaded it would have been 5 out of 5.

We took our 2 young children down to the park after reading some reviews on tripadvisor.
The main descriptive word used in the other reviews was tranquilidad.
I can say that I completely agree with that.

The who area was so calming.
After walking around the town it was the perfect except.

On the down side the parking was a little walk away and the children play areas were not covered so the sun made the slide as hot as a barbecue griddle.
My 2 year old didn't seem to be dissuaded and gave his little chipolata legs a little bit of a grilling.

Also some of the statues had some interesting enhancements made by local graffiti artists so that took a bit of explaining.

All in all a great way to escape the bustle of the town for an hour.

6 out of 7.

Worth seeing
Feb 2016 • Couples
We visited a bit early in the year to see it at its best but still very pleasant hour spent here. The trees are unusual and when in blossom quite beautiful. The park would benefit from more information on type and origin of the plants.

A green space in the city
Jun 2015 • Family
Motril is not really a touristy town but it is a very useful city for the tourist to visit, not only because of its proximity to the coast. but also because of its many shops, supermarkets, banks and other services. The Parque de los Pueblos de las Americas is a small but very welcome green space close to the city centre - walks, a stream, gardens, seating and the tourist office are all here. At certain times of year there is also entertainment. Oh, and swings and suchlike for the children!
