The weather was cold and rainy, or we'd likely have spent the entire day exploring this historic cemetery. Martin van Buren's grave is rather unobtrusive, and we wished we'd have been able to find the graves of his parents and infant son. van Buren's grave...More

President Martin Van Buren is buried here. There is no parking lot but you can just park on the side of the road. There are signs that point to his grave so finding it isn't difficult at all.

President Van Buren's resting place is located in Kinderhook, NY, the town of his birth. The cemetery is unassuming and easily accessible. Whenever our travels lend an opportunity to share in the history of our nation we value the opportunity to pay our respects. Although...More

The cemetery was very historical in that the eighth president of the United States, Martin van buren, is lid to rest with his family in the town he was born and raised in.
