Great walk with the kids in February
Feb 2020
We went with our kids, 7 and 10 years-old, and they liked it. There is no guidance on how long the walks are, so it's difficult to estimate how long the walks would be. Prepare to go with good snacks and 2-4 hours walk. Of course you can always turn back. We really liked the adventure, narrow paths along the small river, there were stairs, bridges and the water fall. Not crowded in February. Some rock climbers.

A Fun Walk, but try to avoid the busy weekend crowds.
Oct 2019
We arrived in Monachil mid-morning on a sunny Saturday. The free car park was quite busy (it was completely full on our return). There was no problem in finding the start of the trail, since there were so many people doing the same thing. Families, and groups, large & small all headed in the same direction. While busy, it was still an interesting walk that we quite enjoyed. It was a bit slippery in places along the river, so you had to be careful. While some areas seemed to demand a fair level of fitness, I was surprised at how many people, young & old, were able to tackle at least part of it. There was one spot where you have to climb down to the river bed and up again a bit further along the cement wall, as you can't use the path. I needed a helping hand to get back onto the path above. Once out in the open trail, it got quite hot. So, remember to carry water with you. So, a good circular walk, but opt for less busy times if at all possible. .

One of Our Favorite Hikes
Nov 2019
We hiked this on our own a few weeks after the area had received heavy rain. The river was high, the path was muddy near the village and slick in many spots. We had a blast negotiating our way up the gorge.

This trail is not for anyone who struggles to crawl, or scamper along a cement wall holding onto metal grabs. There are multiple areas where you have to do both and I was glad the river wasn't any higher or we would have had difficulty in a few spots where you have to climb down into the river and step along the cement wall to stay on the trail. You'll want your hands free and good hiking shoes. When we got to the top of the trail we took a road around the edge of the canyon back into the village. This was not a interesting or as pretty as the gorge. If you have time you may want to go back along the river.

Los Cahorros Monachil, Sierra Nevada
Sep 2019
Wonderful trip, beautiful landscape, we went a longer route. What is terrible is that every corner of the road has lots of exkrement from tourists. Lots of exkrements, stinking corners along the way, both sad and disgusting. All picturesque nooks are thus devalued. Aside from this repugnance, it is a beautiful landscape and an interesting route - I rate the landscape, deserve five stars. More travel video Yutube PSIS visit. Iva + Petr CZ

It was a picturesque walk, with hanging bridges, rocks, waterfalls and nice paths. We spent there around 2-3 hours. It was enough to enjoy the views. There is free parking just nearby.

Interesting walk with some mild adventure..
Aug 2019 • Couples
Arrived in Monachil to find convenient and well signposted free parking at the beginning of the route. The most fun and enjoyable (and mildly challenging) part of the walk is to be found after crossing the longest suspension bridge with some narrow paths and tunnel to negotiate. Our only gripe, which others have previously mentioned, is that there was an unacceptable amount of litter along the way, mainly toilet paper!...
We chose to go out and back but used the alternative circular return path after re-crossing the suspension bridge on the way back to Monachil for some very welcome refreshments.

Excellent hiking route among beautiful scenery!
Aug 2019
I absolutely loved my time in Granada and especially hiking in Sierra Nevada from Monachil, via Los Cahorros hiking route. Saw some great scenery, bridges, mountains, rocks and had a fantastic time!

I would give a little tip though, try to avoid weekends and day time. I went as early in the morning as I could in the middle of the week, and although there were people in there, it wasn't as full as I had feared! Had even an amazing spot to photograph for myself for over an half an hour which was a positive surprise!

There were couple of tight spots where I had to almost crawl under the rock etc. But man, it was all worth it, even though my legs were hurting quite bad in the end of the day. Took me quite a few hours to finish it

All in all, it was a great experience!

A lovely walk, even with young children
Aug 2019 • Family
We managed most of the walk with a 6 and a 4 year old, and stopped before the climb to the 65m rope bridge. The kids loved climbing over rocks and trees on the river path, as well as the first two rope bridges. A note of caution: the walk down the other side back to Monachil is not as attractive and has little shade, so you might be better off walking back along the river on very hot days, but you will miss out on the handy ice cream stop on the way back.

Great walk
Jul 2019 • Family
Great, rewarding walk which didn't disappoint. We enjoyed the clambouring and having started mid afternoon the uphill to the top of the hill was in the shade😀. If you don't fancy the hill part of the circular you could head back once the walk leaves the riverside, there may be other routes back if you check a map.

Very enjoyable walk
May 2019 • Couples
A very good walk with lots of interest along the way. It starts in the valley amongst the trees and soon climbs with a couple of interesting Indiana Jones type bridges before you walk on the narrow concrete bank of the river, stooping and balancing in parts and then you go through the natural, low tunnel before emerging into the sun again and the long easy walk along wide tracks with gorgeous views [including a big cluster of bee hives] of the gorgeous panorama.
I recommend that you start the walk before 10:30am because if you leave it later than that you are likely to get caught in the soaring temperatures.
It's an easy circuit, take your time and enjoy yourself - you will be glad you did.
