I'm not a regular exerciser, but if I were, Piedmont Park would be my third choice after Cascade Springs and Grant Park. There is not enough open green space in Atlanta and what there is tends to get filled with "amenities" that reduce the green...More

This is a large park with many walking trails and a man made lake. The "Beltway" (a repurposed railway line) runs through it and offers miles of walking and running trails. There are also two dog parks for canine lovers.

What's not to love about Piedmont Park? It's a giant park in the middle of the city where one can get some fresh air and chill times. It's got sports fields, trails, dog parks, lakes and as an added bonus you get plenty of events...More

I had high expectations for this park and I was let down. There is no wow factor apart from the lake. I thought there would be more. However there are massive wide open spaces and heaps of shaded area to chill or picnic. There are...More

The Belt line is your best bet. You are able to rent bikes from Ponce City Market and also enjoy great food, fun, and shopping.

No you would need to drive from what I remember. Beautiful place. The aquarium is awesome. Also for the aquarium park in the left across the street for like $5.
