Our daughter's wedding & reception was held at the Atlanta History Center. The setting was gorgeous inside and out, providing a stunning backdrop for their photos in a number of locations. Most importantly, though, was the care and attention to detail the staff provided to make the day as special as it could be....professional, positive, and well-organized. Originally planned as an outdoor event but everything had to move inside due to inclement weather....accommodations were made without missing a beat and it was just as special and beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed the history center however it also appears that they now have a different slant on the history than they ever did before. I didn't know that history has changed.

Good if you can get in free as part of bank america free museum weekend, otherwise, not much worth seeing. Most of it is just information about the history that you can see online. Great bathrooms.

The exhibits are well laid out and brightly lit. The depiction of the Civil War battle of Atlanta in the 1000+ foot circular painting from the 1800's called the Cyclorama is AMAZING. There is diarame of scaled soldiers=, horses, wagons etc. the at flows flawlessly into the 3 story tall painting. This is worth the trip toe ht e history center alone! If you are visiting Atlanta and want an insiders history of the history of Atalanta dn its citizens, this is a top 3 attarction.…
