This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

I went on a rainy day and still got to see tons of animals! I work at a zoo so I know all of the struggles they go through and I was just amazed by their collection of animals. Reptiles and amphibians are my favorite. Wish they had more staff to talk to and interact with, but the ones I... More

This zoo seems out of place in the middle of downtown Atlanta but it's got lots within its walls. The pandas are an obvious attraction and they had cubs not too long ago. Like the aquarium they have extras that you can do like mingling with the Pandas and such.

We love the ZOO! Always different programs going on each time we visit. We bought the zoo membership, pays for itself in 2 visits. Bring a picnic lunch, plenty of tables spread throughout the zoo! Splash park is a new favorite of my little one!

The Atlanta Zoo was nice, but was quite a bit smaller than what I expected. They did have a nice variety of animals it just didn't take very long to experience the entire zoo. The petting zoo had sheep, goats and one pig. The best attractions were the to be Orangutans, apes and of course the baby pandas. They do... More

Horrible experience!! This place ruined my daughter 3rd birthday celebration. They have you pre pay in advance for everything which is fine, however what they did not mention that they share parking with other festivities that can take place as well! When we arrive for my child's party there was no where to park for Any of my 21 guest.... More

Pretty good variety of animals but maps and signage are not easy to follow. Feeding the giraffe was really fun but finding the panda exhibit was tricky.

This is pretty much your average zoo, with the only difference being that they have pandas, but just being able to see them in probably worth it. Thought it was slightly confusing to get around, not sure if I would come back.

We're glad you've enjoyed our Giant Pandas. We apologize for our zoo layout being slightly confusing to you. We do offer a map and daily list of activities at our admission gates as well as have knowledgeable docents and volunteers on hand (as well as friendly staff) throughout the zoo for directions or just general info. Because we are so... More
