This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

This zoo has come a long way. Exhibits used to be mundane, concrete structures housing animals with no imagination. Zoo today is vibrant, well planned out and entertaining. Still somewhat small for a city of this size, Zoo Atlanta is a delightful place to spend an afternoon with or without kids in tow. Outdoor Ape exhibit is world-class and new... More

From Giant Pandas to Silver Back Gorrillas Zoo Atlanta is a must see for travelers as well as residents of Atlanta. If you are fortunate enough to visit the zoo when there are baby Gorillas plan on staying a while and enjoying their amusing behavior.

Easy access via Marta or Uber/taki or to drive to. Free wifi at zoo. Plenty of animals to see, highlight was adorable twin pandas to see. Many animal displays were temporally closed or under renovation. In children's play area rope tree top was closed due to renovation & so was water splash park. Not worthwhile spending the extra for ride... More

Technically we didn't actually visit the zoo but attempted to on consecutive days, only to be thwarted by a lack of available parking. We probably would have enjoyed the zoo and will provide an updated review once we can actually find a parking spot, but I felt compelled to share our experience so that your family can prepare their children... Great place to spend a nice afternoon with the grandchildren. The only issue was parking. If you are going, go early. Both of the parking lots were full when we arrived around 11:30 am. We had to park on the street on the other side of Grant Park but I was able to drop the family off before I went... More

Small zoo; good place to spend a couple of hours. The highlight of our visit was getting a chance to see the pandas, including the red panda which had quite the personality! The gorilla, tiger and giraffe exhibits were excellent as well. While their no straw policy for drinks in the cafe is understandable for environmental reasons, when you need... More

Being panda lovers it's a natural to go to ZooAtlanta. Our second visit and we weren't disappointed. On our last visit we actually fed the pandas, an experience not to be missed!! This time we just enjoyed visiting with their new arrivals. The twin cubs are adorable and their proud mom and dad are priceless. A must do while visiting... More

Spend about 3-4 hours here. Lots to see and the animals are visible. A very nice small zoo. Friends, family or couples welcome.
