We arrived after 5pm and the light was great for taking photos. It is a steep walk up to the small castle, but the view is well worth it. There are a few bars and shops in the village. A good way to spend the...More

Apart from the big tower on top of this rock, there really isn't much else to do in Zahara de la Sierra. Using a good camera you'll manage some not-so-original Instagram shots. Do I recommend coming here? The environment is beautiful, the Lake a gorgeous...More

If you like castle keeps then it's worth the hike to the top. Well maintained with three floors, all accessible. Fantastic views from the top. Very clean and void of graffiti. Only 3 stars because Spain has so many of them.

We stopped in Zahara briefly for some photos, on our way up to Grazalema. You can get some beautiful pictures on along the highway as well, with a beautiful view of the city and the castle atop it. We drove into town with the intent...More

It is quite a climb up to the castle known as the Homage Tower but more than worth the effort. The views over the countryside are spectacular and the inside of this small castle is worth the visit alone. It is unattended and free to...More

A short, about 20 mins, but steep walk brings you to the castle. There are resting points on the way up and toilets too. The views are fabulous but would suggest early morning is the best time to go before it gets too hot. Take...More

A small hike up to the castillo is nice! Shouldn't do this with a strawler but sure no problem for others. Not like the Dutchies as myself, no: no entrance money.

Twenty five years ago when I first visited Zahara you could hike up to the cliff top but the tower was closed to the public. Now it has been restored and is open from dawn till dusk. The climb up has been paved and there...More
