Great Arts School

My son is a sophmore at VCU majoring in graphic design. It's a great school and a great value. Best public arts school in the country. He loves it.

My step-daughter was a student and is now an adjunct professor in the Arts department, and she gave us a tour of the campus. The education she got was great, but the building where she has her office is in serious need of a renovation. The women's restroom (only one for the whole building) has only one working toilet and... More

We drove past VCU and saw Thomas Jefferson's handiwork. Later we drove to Charlottesville and Monticello. But the culmination of his talent was at VCU. Don't put yourself through the time and winding, dangerous roads to Charlottesville when you can experience Thomas Jefferson's work quickly while in Richmond.

My entire family attended VCU. Myself , my wife, my son and my daughter. My son and myself both have our DDS and my daughter has her masters. We follow their basketball team wherever they play.

VCU school of the Arts is a separate college , not a university department. Complete undergrad and graduate fine arts program. Nationally respected faculty most of whom are practicing artists. Tuition less than half of private schools, even less for Virginia residents. Part of Richmond' fan district, located in center of city.

I took graduate courses at VCU, and it's a great school. The only thing is it's just so big. Being one who graduated from private schools, and attended a small liberal art's college VCU's size was a bit overwhelming. However, the professors (I had anyway) are more than willing to help with anything. :-)

One of the tops in the nation. Great culture of creativity. Richmond has a burgeoning art scene that VCU feeds.
