This is a very special museum rich with local history. I recommend taking guests here to provide an idea of some of the background we have available to share our past heritage and provenance. Love checking out the building and its contents.

Fabulous 2-hour tour of The Reservoir, Byrd Park, the carillon and surrounding neighborhoods and the pump house canals. Kathy's knowledge of the history and development of the park area is extensive and made the visit very interesting and informative. Having great weather didn't hurt either!...More

A surprisingly interesting museum (and house tour) about the history of Richmond and the area. The exhibits are not extensive but are quite well done and informative.

Well laid out small museum that covers one floor. It has a variety of items and displays that tell of people and establishments that are meaningful to Richmond's distant and mre recent past. It can be best appreciated if you are from the Richmond area.

We were not able to enter the whitehouse which is just around the corner, so we visited The Valentine which was well worth the time. The exhibit has a wide variety of items from within the last 20 years to 100 years.
