The self-guided tour is great. The staff were friendly. Great info on when the south established itself as a new country. Beautiful artwork, sculptures, statutes and wood work.

Nice grounds, good exhibits but could be better. It is located near other attractions and eating establishments.

The location is great!! (It sits on top of a hill) But the view is of tall high rise office, bank and hotel buildings. The grounds were nice to walk around. There are statues of famous Virginians to see

If you can take a guided tour. Well worth it. It is very interesting for school age children. You can take a self-guided tour, but the tour gives you so much more information.

This is one of the better state capital buildings. A must see if in Richmond, Virginia. The statue of George Washington is awesome as well as the busts of all presidents born in the state of Virginia. Enjoyed.

I don't think you have to prearranged tours. They take place at various times throughout the day.
