My wife and I have read a couple Poe poems but are far from being "fan boys". We found the museum to be neat and informative. Lots of artifacts from Poe and others in his life. Limited parking both in lot and street but worth the effort. No photos allowed in any of the 5 buildings but you can take... More

This is a great place to learn about a favorite American author. This museum has steady hours of operation, unlike the other Poe museums in Philadelphia and Baltimore(Both were closed when I tried to visit during normal hours). They also have many fun events open to the public throughout the year. My children enjoyed touring the grounds and playing games... More

Great value at the Poe Museum. The exhibits in the different buildings are quite informative about Poe's life and Poe's influence on culture. The garden is absolutely beautiful and the cats are a treat. Not completely wheel chair accessible. Worth an hour's stroll and a photo op or two.

This museum is on the smaller side, but is definitely worth a visit! It has such unique artifacts as a lock of Poe's hair, furniture from his childhood home, and first editions of the author's works. There are multiple exhibits in about four different small buildings separated by a beautiful garden. I especially enjoyed seeing the murder mystery exhibit and... More

We stopped at the Poe Museum on a Saturday in February, as two of our family members are fans of the author's works. The parking is minimal, but if you can't fit in the small lot which holds about 8 cars, there is on-the-street parking during the weekend. You can take a self-guided tour, or join one of the guided... More

We spent about an hour at this charming museum. I rated it a FOUR as a Poe fan. If I wasn't as interested in Poe, it would be a THREE. The location is an old house contemporary to Poe but not an actual house he lived in. It is eay to find and has a parking lot although street parking... More

I've always loved Poe's work. This was a very neat museum. You never know what's around the next corner of this small, many roomed house. It's a great house for this museum because it's kind of creeky, and musty just like Poe's writing. If he had actually lived here it would have been very fitting for him. What a sad... More

This is really a gem of a little museum. I have a BIG recommendation, though... go for the guided tour. We purchased general admission, but we tagged along with a group that had a guided tour and I'm so glad that we did. Without the tour, you are walking around looking at a bunch of old stuff. With the guide,... More

This was a great little museum to visit while in Richmond. It's only $6 to get in and you see some terrific memorabilia. They have so much to see in such a small place. It only took about an hour to go through everything with about a dozen other people there. It wouldn't be easy though if you have limited... More

As a resident of Baltimore we were very excited to see the Edgar Allan Poe Museum. It was great, we very much enjoyed the self guided walking tour.
