Wonderful museum full of Edgar Allan Poe's personal artifacts and first editions of his famous works. Saw an exhibit on Poe and metal illness. Also learned tidbits about Poe I will use in lit classes I teach.

The Edgar Allan Poe Museum was one of the first attractions I visited when I first moved to Richmond 20+ years ago. It's a small house but with the docents there, they can tell you all about the history of Edgar Allen Poe and his...More

Have always loved Poe's works. Great to learn more about his life. Enjoyed seeing original manuscripts and a peek inside his life. Spent about 2 hours here. Didn't bring ear buds so couldn't take advantage of the audio tour (available online, Wi-Fi provided).

FYI - The adjacent free lot is kinda small, and street parking can be challenging to find. Just know that you might find a spot right away, but on a busy day you could be searching a little harder and a little farther. We... More
