The visitor's center is a great place to start a visit to Lowell. There aren't many exhibits, but they do validate parking and are conveniently located for the canal walking trails. The park video provides a nice overview of the history of Lowell.

MANY years ago I worked looms. Noise, dust etc. not good. On the other hand a very good lesson on how we developed over time. WELL WORTH GOING!!! The boat ride thru the locks is itself a joy.

We went there as a family and learned a great deal about mill and how it impacted economy of lowell. Learned about housemother and how she managed all women employees and their living arrangements.
