Mix of Apulian Romanesque, Ancient Roman, and Byzantine. The exterior has beautiful carved wall sculptures of animals, doors with story panels, and the interior crypt which holds the relics of San Nicola Pelligrino.
I think I read somewhere that this may be one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Italy. If so, I don't get it. Maybe I am missing something but the interior was quite simple yet peaceful. Of course with free entry you have nothing to...More
Very nice. All around is very nice just to be lucky to get a sunny day (actually not impossible in Trani!!).
Downstair there is the old church... impresssive. When you go out it is nice to watch the Blue sky and the white church

I did not take a tour. I visited on my own, including the crypt. If you read up on the Cattedrale before your visit, that should be fine. It is a beautiful site, right on the water's edge. Buon viaggio, Cristina
