The Cathedral itself is beautiful from the outside. Inside is less special. However the crypt is beautiful with some very old frescoes.

We were staying next to the Cattedrale so we were passing it very day. The building from outside is very impressive and beautiful. The inside is nice but not overwhelming.

Mix of Apulian Romanesque, Ancient Roman, and Byzantine. The exterior has beautiful carved wall sculptures of animals, doors with story panels, and the interior crypt which holds the relics of San Nicola Pelligrino.

I think I read somewhere that this may be one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Italy. If so, I don't get it. Maybe I am missing something but the interior was quite simple yet peaceful. Of course with free entry you have nothing to...More

Very nice. All around is very nice just to be lucky to get a sunny day (actually not impossible in Trani!!). Downstair there is the old church... impresssive. When you go out it is nice to watch the Blue sky and the white church

This is in quite a spectacular location. If you are into churches then you will enjoy this place. If quiet you can get a good photo

UNESCO Hertiage site. Check out the crypt where another St Nicholas resides. Be sure to climb the campanile for incredible views.

I did not take a tour. I visited on my own, including the crypt. If you read up on the Cattedrale before your visit, that should be fine. It is a beautiful site, right on the water's edge. Buon viaggio, Cristina
