If you love dogs, this is the place to go: it is one of the only public spaces where Cambridge dogs can go off-leash (sorry, dogs from neighboring towns are leash-bound, although I believe they can still swim at the designated dog beach). If you...More

A perfect place with great views. The walk around the pond is about two miles and really enjoyable.Lots of people walking their well behaved dogs and enjoying themselves. A real gem.

Great place to walk or run to get fit. I usually just like to stroll around the lake, it's also on the way to buy groceries. Try to get there while there is sunlight, it gets creepy when it's completely dark.

We stayed at a friend's place nearby for two weeks. Took our dog here every day. A wonderful community asset and off-leash area for dogs.

Many dog walkers, runner and bikers. Great for spotting birds, and make sure you take time to visit Blacks Nook-- the flowers and plants are wonderful!

I wouldn't go out of my way to come here... For being a reservation, there are a lot of fences, almost claustrophobic feeling. Also kind of hard to get to and into with all the fences.

On my first visit, the sun was setting and the pond appeared too large to walk around before dark. I soon returned when the sun allowed more time. The walk around the pond is lovely and easy. It is also very popular and maintained so...More

Very good for a nice run around the reservoir. I just can't give the highest rating because much of the reservoir is fenced up, therefore marring the view.

Step away from your screens and laptops and take a refreshing power walk around Fresh Pond. Free and fun. Grab your canine companion and get out on the trail which winds around this large pond. Stop and watch the water fowl. Fling a frisbee for...More

A real little oasis. Beautiful to walk or run in the trees. And at 10am on Saturdays there is a free times run - either one lap around the pond (2.5mi) or 2 laps (5mi). There are also lots of Ranger-supported nature events at the...More

Yes, but there are no picnic tables just benches in a few spots or you can find an open space to put a blanket. Just be aware that Cambridge dogs are allowed off-leash in some areas. They are usually well-behaved, but... More
