Far exceeding our expectations, the house is magnificent and so far ahead of its time as to be as if an alien spaceship would be to us today. The influence of Asian architecture is evident and very different from the surrounding Victorian homes. The interesting use of space and lighting on the 16 various levels were mind boggling. The custom... More

This 12,000 square foot home was beautifully restored. You need to go to the Visitor Center and sign up for a free docent led tour - donations are accepted. Our tour guide was Jim - he was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. There is street parking available. The home itself contains a tremendous amount... More

We waited a long time to get to this house. Early Wright at the apex of his Prairie style architecture. His first commission with no ceiling on his budget. The exterior will knock your socks off once you're on the sidewalk. His extensive use of copper as well as ceramic glazed freezes that mirror the coppers patina boggles the mind... More

If you like Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture, you must see this house. Absolutely lovely. Aside from the beauty of the furnishings and windows, there's a bit of whimsy in the lower level - a one lane bowling alley!

The Dana Thomas House is another example on Frank Lloyd Wrights talent. This property was built around an existing home. It amazed me how the architect was able to blend all so smoothly. Our tour guide was quite knowledgeable, and he added Much anecdotal information. Definitely take the time to tour this property.

This is one of my favorite spots in Springfield. It is a fine example of Frank Lloyd Wright's work. The house has been kept as authentic as possible. One interesting feature of the house is the Victorian parlor that is the only remaining room from the structure in its original form. If you are in Springfield during the Christmas season... More
