WOW! The tour guide we had was chock full of information about Abraham Lincoln as well as his lawyer partner Herndon. Loved the detail about the onion skin used in the printer. Full of actual Lincoln used furniture and nice gift shop. You will LOVE...More

All we wanted to do was take a quick peak so that we could scoot over to Lincoln's home to catch the last tour of the day. Nothin' doin'. Everyone has to take a free guided tour which, for us, lasted 45 minutes!!! (Who would...More

This place was closed when we went but we were able to see inside the windows and take pictures out front. The history in this little town is breath taking.

To walk around the streets of Springfield and know that history was made was something EVERYONE should experience. It was just surreal and amazing.

We passed this building. It is currently closed for renovations. That is why I am giving it this rating. We did go there last year. It is plain but kind of interesting. Not sure when it reopens.

At this time, this site is closed, and has been for about a year. The sign says due to renovations, but it's more likely the State of Illinois' dire financial condition. Don't plan to visit here unless you verify they are open.

Currently this building is being renovated but there still was a nice plaque located on the building that informs you about the historic value of the site.

The Lincoln and Herndon Law Office is fine to see from the exterior so you can say you saw it. But it's closed. The site and sign on the door say it's closed for renovation, but we were also told that it's closed for budgetary...More

Another highlight in Springfield as you search to find more about Abraham Lincoln. This is is by a square near shops and restaurants.

The office was closed for renovations but the area around the office with historical information and the "Looking for Lincoln" information signs as well as the Lincoln family statues outside of the office still made it worth the visit.

Lincoln historians will like the presentation. The office is set up to show the active disarray of being a lawyer and visiting children. A nice depiction of what might have been.

I think they open at 8 am. You can get on the National Park Service webpage and probably find out more info.
