As my husband & I were taking a trolley tour, we pasted by this weekend market that was only on Saturday & Sunday. After our tour, we walked over and had the best time shopping & looking at all the crafting booths. We also tried deep fried halibut at one of the many food vendors! It had something for everyone!... It is an free, outdoor, weekend venue with hundreds of vendors under tents. There’s everything Alaska: food, arts and crafts, clothing, jewelry, wood carvings, paintings, and entertainment. It’s a good place to stop by if you are in the downtown area for other reasons and have an hour to kill. I would consider most of the products as dust-collectors and... More

I went on a Sunday afternoon but got caught in a rainstorm. Since the booths were all in tents, I decided to stay and look around. Like all city markets, it had a blend of high quality artisan food and crafts and some tacky souvenirs. They also had great live music. And then there was the Kool-aid pickle stand...A fun... More

We had a great time shopping along the rows of the market. The kids bought some souveniers and we purchased hand made knives. Enjoyed live music and some halibut tacos!

If you are in the area and hungry, this is a good place to stop. There are many different food stalls selling everything from snow cones to reindeer sausages. The best was the stall with beer battered fried halibut and corn fritters. Delicious. A family run fruit stand had beautiful and very tasty fruit. Artists selling framed photographs, t-shirts, jewelry,... More

We walked it all and bought some homemade AK items and met some interesting people. It's near a lot of great restaurants but they have some food booths with very yummy and unique stuff there too.

Large number of vendors offering food and art primarily. Hand dipped ice cream bars on a stick were my favorite. Did not see any got-to-have bargains. Every other customer and vendor seemed to have a friendly dog. Little surprised by 6:00 pm closing time since there is daylight to midnight. Overall enjoyable experience.

Had a great time walking around with my friends. We were lucky enough to go on a sunny, warm day. Booths were a little pricey, for was great and loved taking photos as a Eskimo with two lovely dogs!!
