We passed by this wall, and I didn't really know what it was. This is a cool looking mural that is in the city!

This wall is right in the middle of downtown Anchorage. It shows all of the types of whales, in a colorful manner.

Very well done, free and easy to find in downtown area. A trolley tour guide told us that that the whales depicted drawn to scale. It's an unexpected and well done mural.

This is a fun, very large mural on the side of the JC Penney Building. It's a great way to show kids some ocean life up-close (sort off) and it's a great photo stop!

This is a very nice wall mural on the side of the mall by JCPenney's. It's a nice picture to see but there's nothing else here. You will see it many times as you travel out of the downtown area.

I am a huge fan of Robert Wyland. I find his ability to draw compelling life on a such a large scale just incredible. The Whaling Wall is no different. It is difficult to appreciate in pictures because the sheer size is what is impressive.

You probably don't need to stop and view it - just drive slow and you'll see it on 6th Ave as you leave the city... Or drive around the block and see it again.

Many murals on the sides of buildings, this being really big! Nice art and has been there for a while but still is impressive!

We were focusing on a place to park, located a parking lot a distance from where we really wanted to start our downtown walk. After paying we looked up and there they were: whales! A shocking and beautiful treat!
