We have this gem in our community that we tend to forget about. This lake is where our water supply for Anchorage comes from. They have a wonderful trail around it that stays busy for people and animals to enjoy.

Lovely camping (only a little expensive for no drinkable water and no shelters) near the lake. The day after we did the Twin Peaks trail. Well-maintained trail, beautiful views and a black bear on the other side of the valley. I recommend this place :)

I love going to Eklunta when I visit Alaska. There are some great hikes and you can even rent bikes and kayaks. We intended to kayak to the far end where the water turns but it is FAR. Way more far than you would think....More
