Ship Creek is a SUMMER attraction. Ship Creek features combat salmon fishing beginning in May (King Salmon) and, as Alaska Fish and Game permits, on into July. Then the Silver Salmon arrive in late-July and this fishing season can run on into September. You MUST...More

We stayed at the Comfort Inn which is right next door. We went walking over to see the salmon. Nothing to see as it is the end of the season. Nice little park and walk. Very pretty.

Walking along Ship Creek watching the salmon fight their way up the river is a sight I will never forget. The path is easy to walk and well maintained. Watching the fisherman catching salmon was wonderful fun.

Walked along a short boardwalk to take a look at the creek. It was fun (for a few minutes) to watch the fishermen in their waders. After that there wasn't that much to see.

It was neat seeing all the people fishing in the creek so close to downtown, but it wasn't really that scenic. Maybe it was just the weather, but it looked a little dreary.

This is a great place to walk along the stream and see fish in the creek. It is in downtown anchorage but you wouldn't know it when you are there. Great place for families to go on walks. It is very peaceful.

We were there the 2nd week of June and there was a fishing derby going on. The banks were lined with anglers. It was very interesting and we enjoyed talking to those who had caught some large salmon. We were there during high tide and...More
