At the very end (East) of Madison Street lies the urban village of Madison Park and its beach. Once a separate village, the city of Seattle swallowed Madison Park many years ago. One hundred years ago it was an amusement park to which the city people flocked. On a hot summer day, they flock there for the beach on Lake... More

On a hot Seattle day, Madison Beach is a cool place to spend an afternoon. Sit on the grassy beach, swim in the rolling waves, dive from the multi-level boards on the floating platform, and watch the boats crisscross the lake. There is a bath house and there are lifeguards watching the beach and the diving. Good views of the... More

Madison Park has a very active beach full of friends and families. It has a active commercial area right next to it and good parking options which adds to its attractiveness. There is a lot of neighborhood involvement in keeping it nice. This is a hidden gem of a place that people just seem to stumble on and keep coming... More

Madison beach is a great little beach to visit on the warm and hot in Seattle. Very easy to get to. Just talk Madison and it dead ends right at the lake. There are plenty of places to eat near by.

Stopped a local for advice on places to eat. He sent us to this surprising area that we hadn't seen mentioned in any of our pre-trip searches. Great views of the water and cute shops. We walked around a bit and stopped in the Madison Park Bakery (I think) to ask for cafe ideas. We bought a cream cheese pastry... More

Great local beach park on the shores of Lake Washington at the end of Madison from downtown Seattle. Crowd watching here showcases Seattle's diversity and the view of Mt Rainier from the floating dock is spectacular on clear days. Also has a low-dive and high-dive.

There are a lot of small shops with a real friendly outdoor appeal. The beach is small and gets crowded fast. There is a pier at the end of Madison street. Its a nice quaint friendly area.

Madison Park and Beach is a hidden gem officially in the city of Seattle but 3 1/2 miles from downtown. Located right on fresh water Lake Washington this village is a respite worth discovering. One of many gems within the compact village is Bert's Red Apple grocery store. It is the quintessential old fashioned hometown grocery store that will almost... More

We decided we wanted a day out just to relax so headed off to Madison Beach to do just that. The Beach Park was a little disappointing. The area is not very large and was very overcrowded the toilet facilities are mediocre however we did manage to relax and had a pleasant afternoon at the Beach. Did not wow in... More
