When the electronic world crashes, and civilization scrambles for books, the Seattle Public Library will become the hub of the New World. User-friendly and well designed for the digital age, this library is fluent in today's info-service needs while showcasing print in all of its...More

The building is unique outside and in. Regardless of which floor you enter the building from, be sure and take the escalator down from the 5th floor and see the art to the right

The Seattle Public Library isn't the image you may have of a library. I love Rem Koolhaas designed buildings, and this one is a must see.

Great architecture, quiet, non-packed, cozy. Got floors for single things. Have a floor space for just reading. Only bad things is there's homeless people inside the library with big blankets, which I'm not sure why they are there if they are not using the library...More

The building is striking from the outside and the inside is a gorgeous. With the walls a honeycomb of diamond windows, the modern patterned rugs, and the bold colors splashed on walls and chairs, this library feels young and elegant. Loved this short visit.

The first thing that drew me into this odd glass building was the design. What would it look like from the inside? My advice go to the top and wind your way down through the stack of books. Then check out the all red multimedia...More

The library is absolutely beautiful from the outside. The inside is a mess. They say you can get an "amazing view" from the top floor, but in reality you are so far away from the windows that you can't see a thing. On the top...More

Impressive architecture and convenient location not far from Pikes. This was a great place to stop for bored/tired kid. There children's library is large and well-stocked. Definitely a place to plan some downtime for the kids.

It's just a plain fun public library. Easy to browse, relax, or grab a latte. You can enter either on 5th Avenue or 4th Avenue. Even if you aren't a reader, it is worth checking out.
